A Psalm by Rob Searcy – April 15, 2021

Statement of Faith

We believe that God created man and that He created them male and female. As such He created them different so as to complement and complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. Therefore, we perform and mentor marriages in accordance with Biblical guidelines. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; John 4:16-18; Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 5:11, 6:9-11. 6:18-20, 7:1-3 and 7:8-9; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3-7; 1 Timothy 1:9-11)

A Psalm About Being Grateful in the Ordinary Things of Life

By Rob Searcy

Often as the pastors-teachers present from the platform, they answer the ‘what’ and ‘so what’ questions connected to scripture in very spiritualized imagery…. the teachings on Psalms that is currently being presented is and has been a little difficult for me to apply… so in praying about how to make application from the current series to answer my ‘now what question’ (my personal application from the sermons that is always where the ‘rubber meets the road’ responsibility), I wanted to share my shortened version of Psalm 136 with apologies to its author…..

My wife & I were able to get all the groceries we needed at Walmart today…
His love endures forever,

Although I have new health issues & concerns, I have my medicines & appointments for the next 30-days and am not overly worried or anxious…
His love endures forever,

While we lost 7 of our 34 perennials in our garden to the frigid temperatures of February, the remaining plants are blooming beautifully now with Spring flowers….
His love endures forever,

We have clean water that flows from our faucets for drinking, cleaning, and bathing…..
His love endures forever,

I have a warm place to sleep that is clean,
His love endures forever……

My daily walk with Him is where I live… I so deeply appreciate the ordinary, simple aspects of of where I have unappreciated God in His caring for me.
