A Psalm by Elizabeth Place – April 19, 2021

Statement of Faith

We believe that God created man and that He created them male and female. As such He created them different so as to complement and complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. Therefore, we perform and mentor marriages in accordance with Biblical guidelines. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; John 4:16-18; Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 5:11, 6:9-11. 6:18-20, 7:1-3 and 7:8-9; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3-7; 1 Timothy 1:9-11)

A Psalm

By Elizabeth Place

When high school buffets me with endless, poisonous triviality

Your father heart will keep pursuing me.

When I let ceaseless noise harden me to your voice

Your father heart will keep pursuing me.

When I spend my treasure on clothes, and toys

And let luxury become necessity

While children starve in the streets,

Your father heart will keep pursuing me.

When loneliness wounds my heart and steals my joy,

Your father heart keeps running after me.

When an online void robs me of my purity, time, and relationships,

Your father heart will keep pursuing me.

When I am content in your love, my fickle feelings at last reflecting reality

For a single instant tasting wild, unbelievable beauty

Your father heart will keep pursuing me.

When I am appalled at the depth of my brokenness

And vow to ‘go, and sin no more’

And fall the next moment more grievously than before,

Your father heart will keep pursuing me.

When I tear myself down, and cannot bear the concrete certainty of future failing,

When I recklessly doubt the inevitability of promised restoration,

Your father heart will keep pursuing me.

Because of this, beautiful Jesus,

Let my heart treasure this truth and my life throb with the unceasing echo,

Your father heart will keep pursuing me.
