A Psalm by Matt Stavros – April 24, 2021

Statement of Faith

We believe that God created man and that He created them male and female. As such He created them different so as to complement and complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. Therefore, we perform and mentor marriages in accordance with Biblical guidelines. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; John 4:16-18; Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 5:11, 6:9-11. 6:18-20, 7:1-3 and 7:8-9; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3-7; 1 Timothy 1:9-11)

A Psalm of Thanksgiving

By Matt Stavros

I was searching for status in pay and promotions
I was married to money and felt pressured to provide
My hope was hanging in stocks and savings
I was wondering in worry and fear filled my mind

I was insecure and grasping no ears to hear what the Father was asking
I defined my identity as what I could make of me
Constant disappointment seemed to meet my every moment
I could no longer hide my selfishness and pride

At the end of my rope I surrendered control
Free to take hold of my one living Hope

Just as he’s a Father
First I am a son
He freely and fully gave me
A gift of perfect love
More precious than accomplishments
I’ve sought and got and earned
My perfect joy and great delight
Unto his heart I turn

Now I thank God he freed me from comparing, pride, performing and pushing
He holds my heart and leads my life
He always does good to me
Now I can sing in sweet surrender and submit to simplicity
I am his son and I am enough
He always does good to me
