A difficult conversation starts with this

Statement of Faith

We believe that God created man and that He created them male and female. As such He created them different so as to complement and complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. Therefore, we perform and mentor marriages in accordance with Biblical guidelines. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; John 4:16-18; Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 5:11, 6:9-11. 6:18-20, 7:1-3 and 7:8-9; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3-7; 1 Timothy 1:9-11)

 Hi
everyone,

The
tone with which anyone starts a conflict is one of the most
important predictors of the outcome. It should be addressed softly
and lovingly because both parties will end up in a better place.
The right tone allows you to be heard, and when you feel heard, you
feel cared for. And when you feel cared for, trust is built,
vulnerability is shared, and progress can be made towards a
resolution.

When
it’s time to have a difficult conversation, what it comes down to
is that something very important needs to be discussed, and
feelings are involved. And for various reasons, we avoid having
them. We think someone will get hurt, or perhaps we think we’re
going to lose a relationship at the end of it. But I want you to
know that it starts with tone first, and there’s a way to have the
conversation while preserving the relationship.

Here’s how you do it.

Until
next time …

Cheers,

Henry
