MEET OUR MISSIONARIES
About the Herolds
Daniel and Mary Herold and their three girls were called to Lima, Peru to invite others into God’s family by daily living in a manner worthy of the gospel through constant prayer, intentional relationships, and discipleship. Daniel is the lead pastor of Nueva Vida Lima, a church plant that started in 2016.
Their daily life includes sharing the love of Jesus with church family, building relationships with neighbors, inviting people over for a meal around the table, being out in the neighborhood, asking God how to connect with and serve the community, seeing where He is already working and cooperating with Him there.
Keith & Nicole Wheeler have been carrying a 12-foot, wooden cross on foot around the world sharing the simple message of Jesus…God’s love for all people.
Keith began carrying the cross on Good Friday, 1985, and now with God’s help, they have walked nearly 26,000 miles on foot through more than 210 different nations, territories and islands on all seven continents (including Antarctica!)
They have carried the cross through such places as Syria, Libya, Iran, Iraq, Bosnia, Rwanda, Tibet, Bhutan, the Chechnya region, China, the Middle East, North Africa, all the former Iron Curtain countries before the political changes, and Israel during the 2nd Intifada.

The Luus will be working with the local house church, helping with hospitality, evangelism, and discipleship. The house church movement is growing slowly, still underground, and illegal. Their vision is to see Jesus transform this country through His church.

About Working Together
Felix and Cindy began Working Together: Simple Faith Ministries (WTSFM) from a desire to go into the community with Christ’s love and compassion, reconciliation and restoration, while working to change the cycle of all types of poverty. Felix, Cindy and WTSFM’s volunteer staff serve over 140 unduplicated kids, teens, and adults each year. We are a small non-profit that goes deep with the families we serve. Learn more…

WTSFM is eleven years old and Cindy is the Executive Director. Our target population are people who live or have lived at Country Club Gardens (CCG), an affordable housing community in north Tulsa. Through instruction, mentoring, and real world experiences that give the opportunity for individuals to grow and be strengthened, we want to see Christ transform lives and break the cycle of poverty. Limited by COVID, we currently only have two programs:
1.) Kids’ Place Bible, a once a week Bible time done via Zoom. Its goal is to build spiritual foundations in children and to have a little fun.
2.) PROSPER…Equipping Youth for Life is a 10 month program that works to equip teens so that they will prosper socially, financially, vocationally, and spiritually. We work to give the teens the skills that they need to succeed as they step into adulthood. We also work to encourage and introduce the teens to Christ. We do all this through instruction at weekly meetings, mentoring, and real world experiences.
This year in PROSPER we are reading through Luke. Instruction time covers topics such as leadership, identity, work ethics, interviewing, etc. At our Saturday events we give the teens a chance to practice the skills that they were taught. For instance after learning how to craft a resume` and learning interviewing skills, we host a mock fob fair, bringing in professionals who give our teens practice interviewing. Sometimes we just have fun.
One of the most important growth components of the PROSPER program is the summer internship. Past internship partners have been: Emergency Infant Services, St. John Medical Center, City of Tulsa Clerk’s Office, City of Tulsa Utility Department, City of Tulsa Mayor’s Office, Gilcrease Museum, LionsRock Web Design, Emerson Food Farm, Greenwood Cultural Center, Tulsa City-County Libraries, ONEOK Stadium, Teach for America, ORU, Tulsa Children’s Museum, and Tulsa Global Alliance. The internship teaches and reinforces work ethic, develops skills, develops community connections, and builds the teen’s resume.
Finally, if a teen successfully completes the program, he/she receives a $600 award. $300 is put into an Oklahoma 529 College Savings Plan and $300 is given to him/her in two week increments to simulate a paycheck for his/her unpaid internship. The teens are required to budget the check, giving them hands-on experience with managing money.
Holly is Believers Church’s longest serving missionary. She has served in Africa and Ireland. She is currently on home assignment.
